Clones are used instead of the real heroes is because they always have to fight evil and never had the time to work at S.H.P.P so they had to make a cloning machine to clone Sonic, Tails, Mario, and Yoshi so those clones could entertain.
During the nights, you get voice messages from Luigi telling you what you're suppose to do and give out info about the people who made S.H.P.P and how the clones turn evil during the night. You play as Knuckles the Echidna who has taken the job to be the Night Guard and watch the clones at Sonic's Hero Pizza Palace for 200 Rings at 12AM to 6AM. The game takes place from January 24th, 2015 till the 31st.
